What a great place to eat! This was my first time here, just motorcycling aimlessly around the southern tier an northern PA, and happened to pass by at the right time. Our server was super nice and, being new customers, she gave us the history of the place and a full description of all the choices. We took the buffet which was great! How many other places do you find Cornell recipe chicken that is not being cooked by the roadside on a grill with wheels?
I am definitely putting Phil's in my list of places to go back to.
I've lived in the greater Binghamton area all my life and have known about Phil's for a long time, but never actually tried it until last night. I gotta say I'm feeling a decent amount of regret over having waited so long because it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Now believe me when I say I can eat a ton - so I got the buffet and tried a little bit of just about everything. It was a Friday so the featured item was fish, which was breaded and cooked to perfection, but I also plowed through some perfectly barbecued ribs, velvety mashed potatoes and gravy, no less than three kinds of super fresh bread, ziti that could rival your Italian grandmother's, their master-level chicken, of course, and a ton more. There was some sort of rice pudding that tasted like it had been infused with apple pie and magic. I got a slice of coconut cream pie for dessert - it was the best coconut cream pie I've ever had. That cornbread that they bring to you upon request - I could marry it, and then ask for more cornbread on the gift registry; it was good beyond belief. And as if I wasn't impressed enough with the food, the service was great too! Our server was friendly, fast, and personable. The buffet is the cleanest, freshest, and best stocked of any buffet I've ever been to. All of this for less than $15?!? That's a monumental value. Phil's literally went from someplace I'd never tried to one of my favorite places of all time last night. Don't ever change Phil's, you're doing everything right!
My grandparents used to live just up the road from Phil's, and whenever I visited, we HAD to go and we'd enjoy chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy. Now, 40 years later, I'm rarely up in NY but I go out of my way to stop in and STUFF myself when I'm passing near! The tangy chicken, the potatoes, the gravy... It's all exactly as it was--in the best possible way! Don't miss out!
Always one of those places when I come back in town I go too! I love sharing this restaurant with people I bring to town with me! Love the chicken!
It was the first time for me. The service was fantastic!! Our server Kaylea was so nice!! The food was very good. We will definitely be back!!
Exceptional service, flavorful fall-off-the-bone chicken, and delicious sides and pies. You can't go wrong at Phil's!
Love this place! The food is always hot even when you visit at off hours. That's darn good for a buffet. My favorite time is Thursday for the beef tips!
Phil's catered my wedding this past weekend and their food and service was second to none ! Thank you !
Great food, love the verity of home made pies. You get a free slice with dinner. Yum
Brought 5 bottles of Phil's famous chicken marinade back home to TN on ice because nothing else comes even close!
Great lunch at reasonable price!...you can't ask for more than that!
Chicken is always great. Buffet is excellent. Service superb
Always good food and service. Prices are great too. We always recommend it. We bring friends from Cortland to introduce them to Phils. Keep up the good work.
